After each song our “investigator” will summarize by saying things like, “I never knew that we all lived with Heavenly Father and Jesus before we came here! That’s great!” And compliment the children afterwards, pointing out that just from the primary songs they know, the children could be really great missionaries NOW.
Here are the questions and the most likely answers the kids will come up with. Obviously, answers will vary…
Q: What church do you belong to?
Q: What is your relationship to God? What do you know of Him?
Q: Where did we live before we were born?
Q: What is Faith?
Q: Where did the Book of Mormon come from?
Q: As I read the Book of Mormon, how will I know it’s true?
Q: After I get baptized, what else do I need to do to live with Heavenly Father again?
Q: Thanks for sharing your testimonies with me. Is there anything else you would like to tell me before I go?
For Jr. Primary we are just going to sing I Hope They Call Me on a Mission. While we sing, I have a Pin-the-Tie-on-the-Missionary game (runs just like pin the tail on the donkey). I purchased my game several years ago but if you want to make one, just draw a missionary on a poster board, cut out a tie (or a few), bring some masking tape and a bandana and voila! Easy!
UPDATE: I found a version of Pin-the-Tie on the missionary on a blog if you are interested in making one. Find it HERE.
See my updated version of this lesson plan HERE which includes several printables and a new option for doing a similar lesson plan with Jr. primary.
