Use these singing time review cards to review ANY Primary song! They are especially great for double melody Primary songs. Create different groups based on different children’s characteristics and preferences. The options are endless and so is the singing!

Double Melody
These review cards are best suited for songs with a double melody. Double melody Primary songs are those that have 2 parts that can be sung together. A Child’s Prayer, I Pray in Faith and Love is Spoken Here are a few examples of Primary songs with a double melody.
However, these are also great to review ANY song. Scroll down for the variation at the bottom of the post for ideas!

These 2 cards are additional ones. If you want more information on how to use them, make sure to check out this post HERE.

Optionally, punch holes in the top corners and add string or ribbon so they can be worn like a necklace. This helps free up your hands! But it’s completely optional. The cards can also be hung on the board.
Singing Time Idea

Variation
This activity can also double as a review for ANY song. Just hold up the cards or wear them as necklaces to create your groups. Sing the song as a whole or have each group sing different phrases.
Afterward, add in a simple competition to see which side sang it best!

Thanks for the mention:). How did it go? I'm considering having them move around next week (I just had one group stand up). I wasn't brave enough to give it a try yet.
I did this today for Sr. Primary and they loved it. (Jr. Primary, we are still working on learning all the words). It wasn't the most reverent but it got them to sing it over and over again. Which was great. They wanted to do more, so if you happen to think of any more, please do post!
Thanks for the great idea!
If you're wanting a review on how this singing time went – the kids had SO much fun. Both in Sr. and in Jr. My only issue was I wish I had maybe 1 or 2 more different ways to switch it up because I had the time and everyone was willing to keep going. I'll definitely use this again!
Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I hope you had as much fun using it as I did.

Good idea for splitting up the song and making it more interesting! Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing this idea. Hopefully, we learn the 2nd verse well enough today that we can give this a try.
A few other ways to split:
– Black shoes / Other shoes
– Short Hair / Long Hair
– Likes Apples / Likes Bananas
– Wearing Blue / No Blue
Hi Unknown!
Thank you for the suggested list!!
~Camille
I think I'm going to just use this to practice different verses of any of the songs.
Thanks.

I don’t see the link to download these necklaces. Please help. I love the idea!
Hi Kimberly!
I’ve emailed you the link. Thanks!

I used this Idea last month with the song “A Child’s prayer” and It was a blast. It was so much fun to put both verses together and how everyone had the opportunity to sing both parts, at the end we did girls and boys, because that is the way how we are going to do it for the program.
Thank you so much for all the great ideas!!
Hi Rocio!
I’m delighted to hear it was a success in your primary!! Thanks for taking the time to comment and let me know :).

You show a picture of a little girl kneeling with the lyric Heavenly Father, are you really there. I cannot find where to copy this picture. Can you please help me?
Hi Barbara!
I’m not sure which image you are referencing. Can you give me the link to the post (I’m assuming it’s not in this post) where it is so I can be of further help? Thanks!

I’m not sure what to do with the pages near the end. The ones where the kids have a large black oval for a mouth and the stick figures?
Hi MaryAnn!
I’m assuming you are talking about the hamburger/hot dog and even/odd ages. Those are just 2 groups the kids can divide into. So they pick if they prefer hamburgers or hot dogs and move to that side. Then one group is if they are an odd number years old or an even number years old. I hope that clarifies! If not, let me know.
