This is another one of my “annual” singing times for the first Sunday in January – I promise, the longer you are in this calling, the easier it gets!  I’m never ready to delve right into January’s program song on the first Sunday (or even the 2nd Sunday for that matter!) as it can be a LITTLE crazy!  The new Sunbeams are trying to get situated, the entire primary is adjusting to new classes, teachers, chairs, etc.  So it’s always nice to have really simple expectations this first day.  And let’s be honest, I’m clinging on to the last few days off before the work begins!  Gratefully there are 5 Sundays in January this year too!
So I always start the new year off by introducing everyone to, well, everyone!  There are new Sunbeams, new kids from junior primary who are now in senior and everyone has a new teacher and class!

I did this last week and the kids loved it. I also had the presidency and the teachers get up and do it. The kids LOVE having the teachers be involved. Then all of the teachers turned around and I picked a kid to try to guess all the names. We have a huge primary and there was about 12 teachers/leaders up front. It was so fun. Thank you for this idea!
