There’s WAY too much I want to do and not enough time!  Especially missing a week this month for the Provo City Center temple dedication and another week in April for General Conference.  But, I’ll just do the best with what time I’ve been given!  Here’s what I have planned…

Singing Time Schedule
March 2016

March 6th:
Opening song:  Follow the Prophet p. 110
Scripture song:  The Books in the Old Testament p. 114
Birthday song:  Have a Very Happy Birthday! p. 284
Welcome song:  We Welcome you p. 256
Singing Time:  Stand for the Right p. 159
Activity:  Find my lesson plan HERE

March 13th:
Opening song:  The Prophet Said to Plant a Garden p. 237
Scripture song:  The Books in the Old Testament p. 114
Birthday song:  Have a Very Happy Birthday! p. 284
Welcome song:  We Welcome you p. 256
Singing Time:  If I Listen With My Heart 2016 Outline, I Will Follow God’s Plan p. 164, Stand for the Right p. 159
Activity:  St. Patrick’s Day review similar to how I did it last year, only using this year’s songs.  Find details from last year’s HERE.  More to come!

March 20th:
Opening song:  Seek the Lord Early p. 108
Scripture song:  The Books in the Old Testament p. 114
Birthday song:  Have a Very Happy Birthday! p. 284
Welcome song:  We Welcome you p. 256
Singing Time:  If I Listen With My Heart 2016 Outline, Hosanna p. 66
Activity:  We will be performing both of these songs in Sacrament meeting on Easter Sunday.  I will be using the handbells for possibly both songs (if not both, definitely with Hosanna).  Find my handbell arrangement for IILWMH HERE and Hosanna HERE

NOTE:  If you live in Utah (at least northern Utah), you will probably be attending the Provo City Center temple dedication this day.  For this reason, I will be using this lesson plan on March 13th, the previous week and omitting my scheduled review activity on the 13th!  This way we will be somewhat prepared to sing Easter Sunday in Sacrament meeting.  That’s why I chose one of our program songs for one of the musical numbers – keeping it simple with limited time!

March 27th:  EASTER SUNDAY – SING IN SACRAMENT MEETING
Opening song:  Keep the Commandments p. 146
Scripture song:  The Books in the Old Testament p. 114
Birthday song:  Have a Very Happy Birthday! p. 284
Welcome song:  We Welcome you p. 256
Singing Time:  I’ll Walk With You p. 140, To Think about Jesus p. 71, Stand for the Right p. 159, Help Me Dear Father, p. 99, Quickly I’ll Obey p. 197, I Pray in Faith p. 14, He Died that We Might Live Again p. 65
Activity:  Getting Ready for Easter found HERE

NOTE:  I usually like do my General Conference themed singing time the week before General Conference found HERE but I don’t want to miss out on Easter so I will be pushing my General conference singing time back to the week after conference.  I went to the Distribution Center for pictures of the new apostles as part of my activity, but they aren’t in print yet!  Hopefully they will be soon…maybe it’s a good thing I’m postponing this lesson plan!!

  1. I am totally new to this whole primary thing, and I just want to say how easy you have made my life. Thank you thank you thank you times a million!!!!! You are so talented and such a great help!!!!

  2. So do your kids already know "Hosanna"? Or are you teaching it to them this month? We're singing for Easter as well and I'm a bit worried on the short time we've got to prepare.

  3. Hi Steph!

We've sung Hosanna every year, but that doesn't mean they know it ;). We'll go over it this coming Sunday (the 13th as we have no block meetings on the 20th) and then when we perform on the 27th for Easter, I'll post the words. This way, they are familiar enough with the melody but can read the words (the little kids will sing what they can and follow me). That's how I ensure nice musical numbers without having to use several Sundays to memorize songs.

    I hope that helps!

    ~Camille
