Tip for teaching this song…Sister Pat Graham in one of her workshops stated that using a rebus for teaching children (especially young children) should be avoided as much as possible. She used this song as an example for all the “be” words. There is a tendency to use the picture of a bee in place of the word “be” (this is a perfect example of a rebus). She stated that for a child to differentiate the difference between the word “be” and “bee” is very difficult. The children will think this song is talking about bees if that’s the image that is brought into the lesson to teach it. Anyway, just a thought.
