I’ll be continuing on teaching Beautiful Savior using sign language this week (find my lesson plan for teaching the 1st and 2nd verses HERE).  Also included on that link are my tips for teaching sign in primary and the flip chart that I’ll continue to use this week.  I’ll post the pages to the 3rd verse as we learn the signs and sing.
Find my notes for the 3rd verse using the access button below.

After the 3rd verse has been learned, I’ll give each child a scarf to tie a corner around their right pointer finger.  We’ll review all the verses using the scarves.  It adds a great visual to the sign language!

I bought my scarves from Amazon here:

  1. Camille, Thank you for all your posts. They are wonderful and such a big help!
I was just wondering how you teach the part, "Son of God". In the church video, God is signed before Son. Do you know why? Is this how you teach it?

  2. Hi Becky,

I ended up just using the signs for "son" and "God" and then "son" and "man" in the order as we sing the words. My thinking is with ASL, words don't translate word-for-word straight across so if you signed this phrase, you'd sign it differently than you would speak it. I hope that helps. Sorry I'm not more proficient in ASL!! If you have more questions, please let me know.

    ~Camille
