Now, be forewarned that some of the lesson plans below require some high-prep.  The only reason I justify the prep is because I use these items EVERY year.  I did the work once and now I can pull it out annually taking no time at all.  You can check out all of my Thanksgiving/fall lesson plans HERE as this year I won’t be utilizing everything.

I also picked up a copy of the 2017 CSMP Outline at the Distribution Center this week so I’ll be posting a summary of that information soon, along with my 2017 Primary Music CD!  Stay tuned!!

  1. Camille, I am brand new in my calling and your blog is a lifesaver. So, do I need to be worried about singing a large number of unfamiliar songs? I just practiced the sing-a-long with my teens

  2. Hi Deedle!

I'd definitely make sure you are pretty familiar with the songs before you bring them into primary. The kids will be totally lost if they can't follow you. Then ALWAYS post words so you aren't singing a solo. If you still aren't totally comfortable with the unfamiliar songs, pull out the songs on CD and have everyone sing a long (with words posted) during singing time. Then at least everyone (including yourself) has something to follow.

I hope I answered your question. Singing the unfamiliar songs is SO great! I wish I could do more of it.

    ~Camille

Camille's Primary Ideas: No Singing Time on Easter Sunday

No Singing Time on Easter Sunday

In case you aren’t already aware, there is no singing time on Easter Sunday. That means no Singing time 2 weeks in a row. First General Conference directly followed by Easter. But if you plan your singing time in April accordingly, you have nothing to worry about!
