Make sure you don’t miss this!!
I was browsing Day Murray Music’s website HERE and noticed that Pat Graham’s workshop in January has been posted! She has 2 sessions this year which is new! If you live close (or not – it’s worth the drive!), I’d HIGHLY suggest attending!
Pat Graham Workshop
Teaching Primary Music Workshop
Friday, January 20th 2017
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
REPEATED (this is when I will be able to attend):
Saturday, January 21st, 2017
10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Day Murray Music
4914 South State Street, Murray
801-266-3537
Price: $10.00
To reserve a spot, I’d recommend buying it online from the link above. In the past I’ve also called to reserve myself a spot – but do either of those as soon as possible as seats fill up quickly! If you call, you can pay over the phone (which I’d recommend) or you can pay the day of (but plan to wait in line). Arrive early as parking is limited.
UPDATE: Apparently, they are offering this workshop LIVE on Facebook for those who sign up (pay the $10.00), then you have a week afterward to watch it in case you are not available at that exact time! See the FB post HERE.
Pat Graham is a “retired” General Board member who helped put together The Children’s Songbook. She, and along with a few other board members, also created A Children’s Songbook Companion (find details about the book HERE) which is a very valuable tool. She has a great teaching technique and always has some fun ideas of how to teach the current year’s primary program songs.
A few years ago I received special permission to record her workshop. If you are interested in viewing it, you can find details HERE. I won’t be recording it this year, but I’ll try to post my notes and I always end up using a few of her ideas throughout the year so stay tuned for those as well!
If you see me there, please come and say hi!! Here’s a picture from 2 years ago of me (on the right) with Sister Graham (middle) and Barbara (on the left who is another fellow chorister)! It’s a pretty fun primary music leader party :).

Camille, what fun for you, Oh, I wished I lived in Utah. Looking forward to reading your post. thank you for all your help. I don't primary would be very fun with our your ideas.
This looks great! If you know of any other time this will be given, will you please post it! This weekend is the same weekend that the Davis County Suzuki has their big checkoff from year to year–the rehearsal is Friday, the performance is Saturday! Same weekend! I'd really love to come down for this, and would if there were another time!
I love living in the "mission field," but I do wish I could go to things like this. Looking forward to hearing about it.
I am in Marion, NC. What are the chances that this can/will be web streamed? Or can you possibly post the transcript?
And, where are you or your family from? My maiden name is Graham with ancestors from Cheraw South Carolina and previously Scotland.
Hi agphillips71,
I'll post my notes, I recored the workshop a few years ago and Sister Graham's husband wasn't too happy with me so I haven't ever tried to do it again.
I'm not related to Sister Graham :).

Thanks for sharing this! I never would have known otherwise. When you go to buy online, I can't see where you pick which day, Friday or Saturday. Do you just buy a ticket and then show up on whichever day you want?
That's what I did. Then Day Murray called me later and had me confirm which time I wanted so I told her Saturday.

Yay! Just registered. Thank you! I am a newly called first counselor in the Primary presidency and need all the help I can get with the Primary Program this year. 🙂
To those of you who cannot attend, it looks like this will be broadcast live on Facebook! I've updated my post above to reflect more of the details! How exciting!!
