Create a paper storm when certain words are sung in The Wise Man and the Foolish Man!  The best part is no water is required!  Only a sheet of paper!

Alyse shared this clever way to sing The Wise Man and the Foolish Man:

Each kid needs a piece of paper (half sheet is fine..and scrap paper is great).

Tell the kids [to] do different things on different key words:

On “Rock” slap the paper
on “Rain” tap or drum with your fingers on the paper
on “Floods” rub the paper
on “Sand” scratch the paper.

Each action makes a different noise and it makes it fun and different to sing the song
It really doesn’t get any simpler than that!  Alyse also suggested to:
Explain the meaning of the rock and the sand and how it pertains to our testimonies. Explain that when you are singing the song, you are telling a story and when you build your testimony on the gospel, it is a really happy thing so sing the song up-beat and fast.

But those who build on the sand, it is a sad thing because they don’t have strong testimonies and then when a trial comes, their “house” or testimony crumbles and they may leave the Church and that is a sad thing.

So sing that verse slower and quieter.

Alyse also mentioned that they reversed the order of the verses so you end with the happy verse of building on the rock.  LOVE it!

Paper Storm Paper

For fun, I purchased this scrapbook paper from Walmart (Walmart affiliate link).

I thought the kids would enjoy the vibrant colors and it was fairly inexpensive.  Not to mention, I can use it for many more projects ;).

  2. Congrats on the baby! Thank you so much for all you do on this blog. It is my go-to spot for ideas and has made this calling manageable for me as I am NOT at all creative! Enjoy that babe, and I hope you have a swift and easy recovery! 🙂

  5. Camille! Congratulations! I was recently called as a primary chorister and found your blog through the Facebook page. Your site is wonderful and has been a HUGE resource for me. Thank you SO much for the time and effort you take in keeping everything together here. And WOW, what a beautiful family you have! Thank you for sharing!!

  6. Congratulations on your newest addition. Darling family. Thank you for all your wonderful ideas. May the Lord strengthen you as you care for your precious children. I always call the first 3 months of a baby's life the three month fog, so don't worry if you don't post much. If you add one more daughter you will match our family. Children are the greatest joy.

  7. Bless you for all you do even with so much going on in your life! You know, I'm sure you could take a short break from posting for your babymoon. You don't owe us anything, although we certainly appreciate all you do for us. Enjoy your new baby!

  8. I don't usually comment on blogs, but I just wanted to thank you for all your creative ideas and hard work. I visit your site often and really appreciate everything you post. Congratulations on your new addition. What a beautiful family!
