April is a “your choice” song! To pick my April song, I looked at April’s theme for the month and started from there (it helps our program jive a little better). April’s theme is “Jesus Christ Restored His Church in the Latter Days.” Here are my suggestions (which I picked from the “Restoration of the Gospel” topic found under the Topics section in the back of the Children’s Songbook!):
**Pat Graham has a lesson plan for teaching this song. Watch it on her workshop video HERE (it’s part 3 at about 11:50 minutes)
For ideas for teaching the other songs, I’d reference the following:
A Children’s Songbook Companion. Find details of this book HERE.
Sugardoodle HERE and search for the song alphabetically.
Google, Pinterest, Facebook (Chorister’s Group HERE), or other singing time blogs of course!
There are a few good hymns that go along with this month as well:
Praise to the Man (find my lesson plan HERE)
We Thank Thee, Oh God For a Prophet (this is a good May song choice too! Reference the 2018 Outline HERE in May for teaching tips)
Leave a comment with what you’ll be teaching this month to help someone else decide!

I'm thinking about Joseph Smith's prayer hymn 26. Do you have any teaching help for this one?
Hi Natalie,
I don't – I'd suggest asking the Chorister's FB group to see if anyone has ideas there. Sorry I'm not more help!

Thanks! I think I saw a flip chart posted recently:)

I can't get "All things Bright and Beautiful" out of my head. I'm taking that as inspiration for me. 🙂
Beautiful Savior since it's a springtime song. But we'll do some restoration songs as well. 🙂
