Are you looking for singing time resources on the Church’s website? If you are currently the Primary music leader for your Primary, there is a simple way to access several of these resources!
I’ve been a Primary music leader for over 15 years and I recently discovered this handy online tool! Make sure to reference it when you have any questions regarding your calling.
Music Training for Singing Time Calling
I recently attended our Stake’s Primary training. The Stake presidency pointed out the “My Calling” section on the Church’s website. I couldn’t believe I’d never noticed it before!
To navigate to this section, simply do the following:
- Login to your church account
- Click on “My Home”
- Find “My Calling” under the “My Links” tab
TIP: Put the links you use the most, first! Simply click on the “Reorder My Links” tab to do so.
My most used tabs are Donations, Temple Appointments and now My Calling. So I have them as my first 3 tabs.
Under “My Calling” is “Recommended Content” related to Primary Music Leader.
Handbook Instructions for Primary Music Leader
Linked are Handbook Instructions for Primary Music Leader 12.3.4. it states:
The music leader and pianist teach children the gospel of Jesus Christ through music during singing time. Music reinforces weekly Come, Follow Me study. The following resources may be used:
- Come, Follow Me—For Primary
- Instructions for Singing Time and the Children’s Sacrament Meeting Program
- Children’s Songbook
- Hymns
- Primary Music Collections on ChurchofJesusChrist.org
- “Primary Singing Time—Music Can Teach Doctrine” (MediaLibrary.ChurchofJesusChrist.org)
The bishopric must approve the use of any other music in Primary.
