For the month of December, I will be utilizing our handbells quite extensively! If your primary budget allows, I would HIGHLY recommend getting a set for your primary. Check out my post about using handbells at Christmas time HERE for more information.

We have a ward party on December 8th and they asked me if I would head up a bell choir for the entertainment portion of the party. My tentative plan is to have kids who are 8 and older, play the handbells. I’m working on bell charts for a few secular Christmas songs like Jingle Bells (which we may perform first and I’ll invite the younger kids to come shake simple jingle bells strung on pipe cleaner like I have here (these are from my nursery bag with details HERE):
and Carol of the Bells. Then we’ll be playing The Shepherd’s Carol, Mary’s Lullaby, Samuel Tells of the Baby Jesus and end with Christmas Bells from the Children’s Songbook. We probably won’t do any singing, only bells because I can only do so much but I’m still thinking it through. Check out my post HERE with details.
If you have a ward party and need ideas, I have a Primary Christmas-Song-Nativity HERE where you can dress the kids in costume, read short verses of scripture and sing in between.
