New Primary Music Leaders

This time of year brings on LOTS of new primary music leaders!  Welcome!  I just want to spotlight my “New Music Leaders” tab at the top to those who are new.

Or you can find it HERE for easy navigating.  It’s filled with links to the church’s website, resources, suggested props that I often use in primary, organizational tips and more!

Then I would encourage you to get familiar with all the other tabs at the top of my page.  Those are the few items that I’ve whittled down to be very helpful.

During 2019, I’ll be adding lots of posts to my “2019 Outline Songs” label HERE (this link is found by going to my “Index” tab and scrolling down to “Listing by Category”).  It should help get you through next year’s curriculum.  My hope is to post lesson plans for every suggested song even though I personally won’t be teaching them all.  A lot of what is suggested can already be found throughout my website.  All those lesson plans can be found by scrolling through that link.

If you are not new, thank you for continuing to stick around!  I’ve loved watching this little space grow over the years.  I started this website with the simple intention of storing my ideas online that I could easily share if anyone ever asked.  I never dreamed it would turn into what it is today.  I love your comments, ideas and friendship!

If there is anything you’d like to see here, I’d love to know!  I have a personal goal to try and get a lesson plan for as many of the songs in the Children’s Songbook as I can before it changes.

  1. Hi Camille,

I am a pretty new songleader, and this blog has been INVALUABLE to me, and I get so many compliments by following your ideas. Thank you.

My question is about 2019. What are your plans if the kids don't know one or more of the songs we are supposed to sing on a given week? Since the songs vary from week to week, and not month to month, there isn't as much time to teach songs as there have been this year, sometimes I take 2,3 or 4 weeks to teach a song. Should I teach a song for 1 week and teach a new song the next week etc. and only go back to a song when the curriculum has repeats? What are you planning on doing?

    Thanks for everything!

How are you planning on teaching songs the kids don't know in 2019?
