My Mother Dear – Right or Wrong?

I’ve got a QUICK and EASY lesson plan for teaching My Mother Dear for Mother’s Day!

I really liked the idea found HERE but just wanted to modify it slightly.  So I came up with my own version and titled it “Right or Wrong?”  You could really use this activity with any song if you had visuals or key words written on the chalkboard.

Have 8 kids come up to the front and hold a picture out or order (or in order to make it easier).  Download the printables using my access button at the bottom of this post.

Post the words like I do HERE and you and teachers (and any readers who want) sing the song.

The kids then must figure out what pictures are right and which pictures are wrong and then put the correct ones in order.  Kids holding pictures that are not in the song may sit down.  Sing it through several times with a few of the wrong pictures up, challenging the kids that you think those are correct just for fun :).

Make sure to scroll through all of my Mother’s Day singing time ideas HERE for more ideas!

  1. I think you mean to have the squirrel picture say "Squirrels" not "Flowers." But thanks so very very much for all that you do! Your blog is amazing!

  2. Thanks for all your fabulous ideas! I’m not sure if there is a different way to access your printables from your lesson posts, but when I click on the access button at the bottom of the post, it always brings up the window to put in my info to join again rather than just taking me to the printables. So I end up having to go into my email and get it that way. Maybe I’m doing something wrong because it just seems a bit disconnected doing it this way.

    1. Hi Tanya!

If that’s how you want to access my Resource Library, that is one way to do it. I recommend you bookmark my Resource Library link on your web browser once you have access. Or the link is emailed each week in my weekly singing time email. I hope that helps :).
