Print on card stock and laminate.  Cut out all the armor pieces and children.  On the back, write the following songs of each of the pieces of armor:
  • Studying the Scriptures: Search, Ponder and Pray p. 109
  • Serving Others: A Happy Helper p. 197
  • Praying: A Child’s Prayer p. 12
  • Obeying: Quickly I’ll Obey p. 197
  • Attending Church: The Chapel Doors p. 156
  • Keep the Commandments: Keep the Commandments p. 146

Armor of God Singing Time Idea

Come Follow Me New Testament Ephesians 6:10–18 references putting on the armor of God.  The activity in CFM reads:

Show a picture of a person wearing armor … show the children how different pieces of armor protect different parts of the body. (See “The Whole Armor of God,” Friend, June 2016, 24–25.)

… Let the children take turns putting on the “armor.” Discuss what it means to be protected from evil and how putting on each piece of armor can protect them.

How do we put on the armor of God? (for example, by studying the scriptures, serving others, praying, obeying, and so on).

Quickly reference the scripture in the Come Follow Me lesson.  Choose a piece of armor to dress one of the paper dolls.   Sing the song on the back and discuss how it relates to putting on the armor of God.

Repeat with new armor and a new song until all the pieces of armor are being worn and the songs been sung.

We'll Bring the World His Truth Armor of God

Because We’ll Bring the World His Truth talks about being the army of Helaman, it’s fun to add armor pieces to learn or review this Primary song.

To do this, sing the song and have the piano randomly stop.  Choose a child to tell what the next words of the phrase are.  If they are correct, they can place a piece of armor on the paper doll.
