This week I want to incorporate a little fall into singing time along with singing one of the suggested songs for the month. Our primary is pretty familiar with Search, Ponder, and Pray so this will be more like a review. I decided to take 3 various singing time ideas and create 1 new singing time lesson plan mash-up!
But each of these 3 lesson plans work wonderfully on their own if you want to really delve into teaching them.
I love using these die cut leaves that are tied onto string for singing It’s Autumntime and Autumn Day. I updated my post HERE with some simple actions to use with the leaves for both songs. I also created some leaf printables if you want to print and cut out instead of using die cuts. Pass out a leaf tied to a string to each child (I laminated mine to for durability!).

Then post the words like I do HERE.

I like to demonstrate the actions (they can all follow along if they like) and then sing each song through about twice. This will only take 5-7 minutes.
Then we move on to Search, Ponder, and Pray using a modified version of my lesson plan HERE. We’ll simply be searching for the key words that will be hung randomly around the room before primary starts. Once the images are found, we’ll move them to the chalkboard in order. If you have something to search with like magnifying glasses, flashlights/finger lights or toilet paper tubes, that makes it fun but completely optional!

Check out this quick tutorial video for accessing the Resource Library:
These printables are filed on my Resource Library page under Song Title > It’s Autumntime & Search, Ponder, and Pray.

Thank you for all of your resources!!! I am a new chorister and I am loving all the content you post!! Thank you for your detailed play by play lesson plans! I will be using them as I get into a groove. It definitely helps take the pressure and stress off. Thanks for your talents!
Anyway you have a temple you could share to print out the leafs? Thanks for sharing all your gifts and talents!!! ❤️
I don’t right now, but I’ll try and work on something this week if that would be helpful.
