I’ve got some fun New Year’s singing time ideas if you are looking for something semi last minute! I love keeping things easy as I’m still in holiday mode, along with the rest of the primary!

In my book, it’s still appropriate to sing Christmas songs the week between Christmas and New Year’s in singing time! So this year, I’m pulling out an activity I found from The Friend. It’s called 12 Songs of Christmas and is just a simple way to sing through 12 Christmas songs. Find my lesson plan HERE.
Any time we sing a song and I have actions or bell charts that coincide with it, we’ll do the actions or play the bell charts. I’m not sure we’ll get through all of it but that’s okay.
Typically I pull out my Christmas Singo this week so hopefully the kids aren’t too bummed ;). But you can find more details on my Christmas Singo singing time lesson plan HERE if you like.

I also have a Celebrating New Years Around the World that is SUPER fun to sing the Sunday before New Year’s! Get to know various customs from around the world. Then associate each one with a primary song! Find more details on that HERE.
And then lastly, I have a Blast from the Past singing time idea that is always fun for New Year’s! It utilizes some simple poppers and any song(s) you like! Find more details HERE. Pick your primary’s top favorite from the year (or use the suggestion from that post) and count down! You could even end with the song, I Will Walk with Jesus that’s new for 2020!

How about this fun snowball toss HERE?

This one, I’ve never tried. But I thought this could easily double as a singing time countdown! Put primary songs in the balloons and pop the them as you count down! More details HERE.
