Camille's Primary ideas: singing time introductions

I like to do introductions for the first Sunday in January during singing time.  We have new little Sunbeams coming in and new little Jr. primary kids who have now bumped up to Sr. primary.  Then I also like to introduce the new Come Follow Me theme!

I don’t know about your primary but the first Sunday with all the changes tends to be a little chaotic.  So I steer clear from teaching new program songs.  Rather I like to ease everyone into the new year.  And introductions are a great way to do that!

In fact, I don’t even start teaching January’s song until the 3rd week in January!  Next week I’ll bring in my Sing-Along videos and give everyone a nice preview of what we’ll be learning throughout the year.  More to come for 2020 but you can see what I’ve done in years past HERE.

So the first Sunday of the new year in singing time will be themed around introductions.  We introduce everyone to everyone and then introduce the new Come Follow Me theme!

Camille's Primary Ideas First Singing Time of the Year Lesson Sing Here We Are Together

To introduce the primary kids, we sing the song Here We Are Together using my simple singing time idea HERE.

I hope to have enough time to introduce my Interactive Bookshelf for The Book of Mormon afterward.

Camille's Primary Ideas: The Books in the Book of Mormon Interactive Bookshelf

My kids are pretty familiar with the bookshelf as we did it last year but with The Books in The New Testament.  Find more details on my Book of Mormon version HERE.

This will double as our bulletin board for the year as well.

The Book of Mormon is About Jesus

Then I noticed in The Friend magazine for January 2020, there was this cute “Bright Idea” on page 14 found HERE.  I thought it would be great to print out and place around the interactive poster to fill the space around the interactive poster.

The Precious Book of Mormon

Along with article this HERE on page 2.  But I only want the right side of the page layout.  I can’t figure out how to get the layout to download and print on 2 pages.

If you can’t figure it out either, I’ve got it in my Resource Library.  Instructions for accessing my Resource Library are at the bottom of this post.

There are so many wonderful ideas floating around for this first singing time in Sunday.  I’ve had a hard time not second guessing what I’ve chosen!

All my printables are free and can be downloaded from my Resource Library.  Access to my Resource Library is sent to you via email and not linked here.  If you need initial access to my Resource Library or need access sent to you again, click on the button below, fill out your information then check your email.  Instructions for accessing each printable on my Resource Library are below the button.  Check out my email tutorial HERE for more help.

These printables are filed on my Resource Library page under Category Title > Interactive Bookshelf > The Books in the Book of Mormon.

To print the page you want from the Friend, go to that page and click the download arrow at the top right corner. It will let you select download this page and you can then print just the page you are needing.

      Hi Dorothy!

Thank you for taking the time to comment! I am able to download it, it’s the way it is printing that I can’t figure out how to change. It prints on one page all cut off. I wanted it to print on 2 full separate pages and then only use the one page. I’m sure it’s me, I need to look into it more.

Don’t click on the download icon. Just click on the picture of the page you want and then try to print it. That worked for me.
