My 2021 Singing Time Planner is all updated and ready to get you organized in singing time! Every year I make minor tweaks as I get more acclimated to the new singing time changes. Even if your primary isn’t meeting in person, this planner will still come in handy for your weekly virtual or video singing time lessons!

I’ve seen LOTS of singing time planners out there. I personally like to plan a month ahead and this planner easily lets me do so.
With the exception, I like to have a yearly outline summary using the Music for Singing Time 2021 found HERE.

What’s in the Planner
Thanks to lots of feedback, my 2021 Singing Time Planner lets you plan weekly, monthly or the entire year if you like! Personally, I like to plan monthly but do what works best for you and your primary!

Theme & Songs
The theme listed at the top of the page is simply Doctrine & Covenants – pretty straight forward ;). The 3 songs listed below the theme are the monthly Music for Singing Time 2021 song suggestions.
Weekly Date & Topic
I’ve included the date and topic that coincide with each Sunday of every month! The weekly topic is from Come Follow Me-Primary. It may come in handy if you want to try and incorporate that topic into singing time somehow.
Weekly Suggested Songs
The songs that are randomly at the bottom of each weekly block are songs that are suggested in the Come Follow Me-Primary curriculum (as noted at the bottom of the planner). If a song was suggested in the primary curriculum and it’s already a monthly singing time song, I’ve left it off for that particular week because it’s already listed at the top of the planner. Clear as mud? 😉
How to Access
My 2021 Singing Time Planner can be downloaded from my Resource Library. To receive initial access to my Resource Library, click on the button at the bottom of this post and the link to my Resource Library will be emailed to you. If you’ve already joined and have access, go to my Resource Library link that was emailed to you. Filing instructions for locating my planner at my Resource Library are also at the bottom of this post.
Each monthly planner is its own document so you can easily print one at a time. If you want to fill in the document digitally before printing, here’s how!
I use a Mac so if it’s different on a PC, I apologize!
- Download the singing time schedule PDF document
- Open the document in Preview and click on Tools > Annotate > Text
- A text box will appear in the middle of the document. Drag and drop it to where you’d like to type text
- Repeat with more text boxes (copy and paste works well) until you’ve filled the document
- Easy!
I’ve left lots of space for you to cater this planner to your primary’s needs especially in the “Notes” section.
Using a Singing Time Planner
Transition Time
Our primary likes to sing during “Transition” time so I’ve added this to my schedule.
VIRTUAL / VIDEO TIP: With virtual or video singing times, make sure to include wiggle time!! I recommend doing it at the beginning of singing time – treat it like you would treat “transition time.”
For my own 2021 singing time planner, I write “Wiggle Worm songs” and the “Articles of Faith song” we are working on that month in the “Transition” section. When I give a copy of my planner to my pianist, he knows what the plan is. He has a separate list of all my Wiggle Worm songs that includes all the page numbers as well.
If you aren’t familiar with my Wiggle Worm Jar, it’s full of Wiggle Songs (just what those kids need coming from Sacrament Meeting!). Find details on that jar HERE.

Then this year, since we are studying Doctrine and Covenants, we will end transition time (or wiggle time) by singing an Article of Faith song (rotated monthly).
Check out my Article of Faith prompts HERE for more details. We begin the year by singing the 1st and 2nd Articles of Faith in January then the 3rd in February and so on, ending with the 13th Article of Faith song in December.

In years past, I’ve created interactive bookshelves. You can find last year’s for The Book of Mormon HERE. If anyone has any ideas for an interactive bookshelf for D&C, I’m all ears! But my plan is to simply use the Article of Faith prompts shown above. I’ll have another bookshelf for the Old Testament ready for 2022!

Singing Time
The “Singing Time” section is where you can fill in what you intend to teach during singing time. This is usually your focus area for singing time that week.
Other
Some primaries still celebrate birthdays with a birthday song, or welcome visitors, etc. This is a way to accommodate any “other” singing you may do in singing time. It’s also nice just for some more writing space ;).
In the “other” section you can also incorporate:
- The 2 suggested monthly Music for Singing Time songs that you aren’t teaching during singing time that month
- Suggested songs from the Come Follow Me – Primary curriculum (the ones written at the bottom of each weekly block)
Blank Planner
I also have a blank singing time schedule that would work with any month and any year. You simply fill it out by hand or by using my instructions above.

How do I print the blank planner? Do I have to be a member to do that? I see it but I can’t print it.
