This year, Easter falls on the first Sunday in April which is also General Conference. So there’s really no wrong time to recognize Easter in singing time! The March 2021 Friend magazine has a fantastic activity entitled He Is Risen! that I easily adapted into an Easter themed singing time lesson plan!

The activity in the Friend is found online HERE. The instructions say to simply cut out the squares to create a little Easter booklet. I added a primary song that coincides with each page:

You can access my printables at my Resource Library. Instructions for accessing my Resource Library are found at the bottom of this post.
Primary children can listen to or sing each song as they flip through and read their book. The songs I added are:
- Hosanna p. 67
- Beautiful Savior p. 63
- Jesus Said Love Everyone p. 61
- To Think about Jesus p. 71
- Gethsemane
- He Died That We Might Live Again p. 65
- Did Jesus Really Live Again? P. 64
- Jesus Has Risen p. 70
Once children cut out pages and punch out holes, they tie it all together with string, ribbon, brads, rings, etc.
Home Centered Singing Time
If your primary meets at home for a home centered singing time, have the children create their booklet and watch sing along videos for each song listed on each page. I have a YouTube playlist HERE that contains all the songs.
Virtual or Live
If your primary meets virtually or in person, have children create their books as the songs are played either on a phone/speaker or from the piano as you and teachers sing. Once books are complete, read the inscriptions on each page then sing all the songs again together. Post words as needed like I do HERE.

You can also check out all my previous Easter posts HERE!
