One of May 2021’s suggested songs is the hymn, Choose the Right. I noticed in this month’s Friend magazine, there’s a new song entitled My Power to Choose. Try to substitute or use this song in conjunction with Choose the Right.
My Power to Choose can be found in the Friend. Then there is also a new sing along video for this song on the Church’s website. Or find it on YouTube:
To teach My Power to Choose using this activity, you need thi choosing printable that pairs a correct word found in the song to an incorrect rhyming word.

Ask the following questions and have the children raise their hands if the choice is a “right” choice:
Post the fill-in-the-blank document that contain several keywords missing. Then add the first page of right and wrong words/pictures to choose from for the first blank. Let children choose which word they think is correct.
TIP: To help children who cannot read, make sure to read each phrase aloud, then sing the phrase, having them listen for the right and wrong words/pictures to choose from.
Once the correct answer is discovered, sing each phrase (it might be fun to sing the incorrect words as well!).
Bear testimony that agency is a wonderful gift we’ve been given but we must use it to choose the right.
