If you want help getting the word out about your upcoming 2021 primary program, I suggest using a primary program invitation!  Top it off with sacrament meeting primary program covers created by your primary kids!

Invitations

As a parent, grandparent, neighbor or friend, it’s always nice to receive a formal invitation to your kids’ upcoming primary program!  Do so with a primary program invitation!

Printing Options

Available are quarter sheets or half sheets so you can print what fits your needs:

Access my printables at my Resource Library. Instructions for accessing my Resource Library are found at the bottom of this post. Fill in the date, time and ward name before making copies.  Cut apart and pass out!

Urge primary families to invite their non-member neighbors!  Share the document on your ward’s FB page or hand out extra copies at the end of primary.

These are also great to attach to program parts!  If you need help writing a program, make sure to check out my 2021 Primary Program Outline post HERE.

The image I used comes from the Doctrine & Covenants Coloring Book, also found on the church’s website HERE.  It’s the same image I used on the 2021 Primary Music CD cover HERE.  I love continuity ;).

The simple black and white line drawings are intentional.  They can be easily copied at the church library this way.

Primary Program Covers

I also have primary program covers to pass out to the congregation.  There are a few variations of primary programs I’ve created.

Option 1:

The first program option is to have the kids sign their names on the back page (you’ll want to do this over the course of a few weeks to ensure all the kids sign it).  If space is limited it can trickle on to the front but I like to have it stay on the back.

Add your ward’s name and date right below the picture if you like (the font I use is Cambria size 25, if you want it to match)!  Do this by:

  • Downloading the cover PDF document
  • Opening the document in Preview and click on Tools > Annotate > Text
  • A text box will appear in the middle of the document. Drag and drop it to where you’d like to type text
  • Repeat with more text boxes (can copy and paste works well) until you’ve filled the document

You can also simply hand write the information before you photo copy.

Option 2

However, if you’d like to have the kids color every program cover here’s another idea (it is SO fun – we’ve had members in the congregation return programs to their creators in the past!)!

This variation has a spot to sign their name…

Option 3

The next is a blank primary program cover for them to draw their own pictures relating to the Doctrine & Covenants.  Maybe ask them to relate their drawing to their program part.  They can also sign their name…

A Word of Caution

When you have the kids color these, DO NOT USE CRAYONS if you will be running them through the printer again (to print the inside information).  The wax jams the machine.  Use colored pencils.

What I HIGHLY suggest is to have the programs completely printed (inside and all) before the kids get to color them.  That way you can use crayon and they can get crinkled with no problem :).  It will just take some serious coordinating with whoever prints your programs.

Tip: Have your primary presidency counselors offer the opening and closing prayers!  Then offer to pick the hymns if it will help plan the program!

Comment Cards

Don’t skip the comment cards!  These are SO fun!  Cut them then insert into your program on yellow paper (optional, but helps bring attention to them!).

Place baskets (with pens, optional) at the back of both doors of the chapel and members can place the filled out documents there as they leave the meeting.

TIP: Ask the bishopric to announce how to use the cards before they turn the time over to the primary.

After the program, during singing time, pass out a treat (my treat topper is coming soon!!) and read the comments to the kids!  Or better yet, ask the bishopric to come in and read the comments!  It’s a welcome relief from being in charge for a 2nd hour!  Hearing what the congregation has to say about the program is a real highlight!

Optionally, sing between comment cards. I suggest using my music bag HERE my Wiggle Worm Jar HERE (with Jr.), or Stump the Primary HERE (for Sr.).
