Polish off all of your primary program songs using this restoration themed review activity! Your primary will come away being prepared for the program while learning more about Joseph Smith and the events surrounding the restoration of the church!

This primary program review activity looks completely different than anything I’ve ever done! I’m really excited to finally be sharing it with you!
The concept is simple. But I’m hopeful that with its simplicity, the importance of the restoration will easily be conveyed to your primary.
Review Activity
This review activity covers 4-5 weeks and will help you review for your upcoming primary program. But it can also be condensed as needed. Review any songs each week. Pick different songs to work on or review the same songs each week.
Place “The Restoration Review” page on the center of the board. Place the various weekly pages around this page, gradually adding on each week.

Access my printables at my Resource Library. Instructions for accessing my Resource Library are found at the bottom of this post.
Week 1 Joseph Studying
Post the pages for “Joseph Studied the Words” on the board. Read the instructions to the primary.

This image is found in the Gospel Art Book if you don’t want to print it. It’s on the church’s website HERE as well.

This image created by Susan Fitch is available to purchase as part of her kit in her Etsy shop HERE. However, if you are a subscriber to my monthly Singing Time Schedule To-Go, it’s included with Susan Fitch’s permission!!
More details are linked at the bottom of this post if you are interested in subscribing!
Week 1 Activity
Once the pages are on the board, move into the activity that goes along with “Joseph Studied the Words.”
Senior: Create word scramble envelopes to each primary song to review – cut up the words to the song and place in envelopes. Pass one song envelope (or 2, several, etc.) out to a group/class to work on. Then sing each song to see if they get their song correct.
To create word scrambles, I suggest cutting up my posting words documents HERE to the songs you need (these are also in my Resource Library to download). Then place in envelopes.
Junior: Listen to the words and raise your “studying Joseph stick” when you hear the keywords in each song:
- Joseph Smith’s First Prayer – morning, sun, bees, birds, grove
- The Priesthood is Restored – restored, men, earth, again
- Reverence is Love – reverence, sitting, thinking, feeling, reverent, words, deeds, heart
- When He Comes Again – wonder, angels, earth, snow, spring, star, nest
- Jesus Said Love Everyone – love, heart
- Have I Done Any Good? – have, wake up, good, joy, blessing, duty, love

This is the finished product:

After singing time, the kids can take them home :).
Week 2 The First Vision
Post the pages from the previous week (optional) then add the pages for The First Vision. Read the instructions to the primary.

A similar image is in the Gospel Art Book if you don’t want to print it. It’s also on the church’s website HERE as well.

This image created by Susan Fitch is also part of her kit linked above. Again, if you are a subscriber to my monthly Singing Time Schedule To-Go, this image is included to download!!
Week 2 Activity
During the songs use sitting, standing, kneeling, lying down cards to provide movement as needed. These movement cards will enhance this week’s activity by providing additional movement:

Cut them in half to flip through the various movements as you sing. To provide even more movement, I suggest my Position Cards (aka Primary Yoga) HERE.
