How is reviewing for your upcoming primary program going? If you haven’t started, it’s not too late! With my primary program review, you can jump in at almost any point (well, up until your program I suppose!). This post is a continuation of my Restoration Review – a singing time review for your primary program!

If you missed the first half of this review, make sure to check it out HERE. It covers:
- Week 1 Joseph Studied the Words (helping to memorize words)
- Week 2 The First Vision (practicing standing, sitting, starting & stopping together)
In a nutshell, this review activity covers 4-5 weeks and will help you review for your upcoming primary program. But it can also be condensed as needed. Review any songs each week. Pick different songs to work on or review the same songs each week.

Access my printables at my Resource Library. Instructions for accessing my Resource Library are found at the bottom of this post.
Okay! So let’s pick up where we left off!
Week 3
Post the pages for “Moroni Instructs Joseph” on the board. Read the instructions to the primary.

This image is found in the Gospel Art Book if you don’t want to print it. It’s on the church’s website HERE as well.

This image created by Susan Fitch is available to purchase as part of her kit in her Etsy shop HERE. However, if you are a subscriber to my monthly Singing Time Schedule To-Go, it’s included with Susan Fitch’s permission!!
More details are linked at the bottom of this post if you are interested in subscribing!
Week 3 Activity
Once the pages are on the board, move into the activity that goes along with “Moroni Instructs Joseph.”
Dynamics to practice:
- For breathing, use a slinky to demonstrate holding a phrase (optional) or simply conduct as such
- Practice beginning and ending the song together by bringing everyone in together and ending the notes together by pinching your fingers
- Sing quietly or loudly (but never shouting) and indicate by leading the primary with your arms – bigger leading means singing louder, smaller leading means singing softer. Can teach what p (piano for soft) and f (forte for loud) mean
- Most songs will be sung legato or smoothly. Practice singing legato (long sounds) but also sing a few phrases staccato or choppy (or better put, short sounds)
Week 4
Post the pages from the previous weeks then add the pages for “Translating the Plates.” Read the instructions to the primary.

Week 4 Activity
Senior: Translate the song titles then practice singing the translated songs so the Holy Ghost can be felt.

Each song has a page to translate. See if you can figure out this song title below by using the key above ;).

If you need to create your own songs to translate, I created this activity using the Wingdings font in caps.
Junior: Match pictures to song titles (similar to the game memory – I suggest keeping matches without the song titles facing outward to move the activity along quicker) then practice singing the translated songs so the Holy Ghost can be felt.
TIP: If your primary is combined, use the Sr. activity provided. Pair older kids with younger kids to help them with the activity if needed. Time permitting, play memory.

This memory activity is available to purchase as part of Susan Fitch’s kit in her Etsy shop HERE. Again, if you are a subscriber to my monthly Singing Time Schedule To-Go, it’s included with Susan Fitch’s permission!!
Week 5
This week is the final run-through of the program. The activity can also be used in singing time after the program. Practice run-through days tend to be a little chaotic, especially if you are practicing in the chapel.
Post the pages from the previous weeks then add the pages for Publication of The Book of Mormon. Read the instructions to the primary.

A similar image is in the Gospel Art Book if you don’t want to print it. It’s also on the church’s website HERE as well.

This image created by Susan Fitch is also part of her kit HERE. Again, if you are a subscriber to my monthly Singing Time Schedule To-Go, this image is included to download!!
Week 5 Activity
Use a smiley balloon on a long string in the chapel (if available) to help encourage singing. More singing = the balloon goes higher. Less singing = the balloon goes lower. Try to keep the balloon at the ceiling. Check out more details HERE.

If you want to keep kids busy as you run through the program, have them color sacrament meeting programs. This would also make for a fun Saturday practice run-through activity!
For singing time after the program, read comments from the congregation. Check out my comment card HERE. Then pass out a treat (optional) and sing favorite primary songs.

More To Come!
I have a restoration-themed treat topper coming soon! It is meant to be handed out in singing time the day of your sacrament meeting presentation.
