This song is SO visual so I HIGHLY recommend pulling in pictures of all the prophets – no matter how you go about doing that!  My post HERE has several options for visuals, including my favorite, Susan Fitch!

But with all the verses, you may need at least 2 Sundays to get through each one!

Follow the Prophet History

This information comes from Stories from The Children’s Songbook by Sister Pat Graham (more information on that book HERE).

Since the Children’s Sacrament Meeting Program of 1988, boys and girls have been enjoying the additional verses to “Book of Mormon Stories.”

The Songbook Committee thought children would enjoy a song about the Old Testament stories—with, of course, a Jewish flavor. A memorable chorus could contain the main message of the song.

Duane Hiatt, who performed musical comedy professionally with the “Three D’s,” was asked to try the idea. He played his guitar and made nine verses with a catchy melody.

As a father of fifteen children, he knew what children would enjoy singing. The “hook of the song,” or the part you remember, is the chorus.

  1. I just purchased the basic monthly plan and was very excited to see what it had to offer. So far however, after logging in successfully, it keeps bringing me to a page that says “This Page Doesn’t Seem to Exist”. I really want to like this site but so far I can access more for free than after my purchase and signing in. Please help.

    1. Hi Marci!

See if you received an email now. I manually just sent one to you. I didn’t see you in my email system – it’s probably something on my end that I need to look into. Thank you for bringing this to my attention! Let me know if I can do anything else for you.
