Why am I now just discovering magnetic tape? It’s amazing! If you are tired of masking tape debacle, this stuff is for you!

I used magnetic tape for the first time when I taught Love One Another HERE. I had all 26 heart printables and not enough magnets. And the thought of taping each one of those before singing time made me nauseous.
So I was perusing the internet for a solution and landed on … magnetic tape! I’ve heard primary music leaders talk about it but I never thought much about it. Magnets and tape have been fine up until now.
What I Love about Magnetic Tape
- It’s reusable! Since I went to all the trouble of cutting out the hearts for teaching Love One Another, I didn’t want to ruin the back by attaching tape to it (I wasn’t up to laminating them all).
- It’s fast! It was SO slick to hang up all my images on the board. No fumbling around with tape, or even magnets which wouldn’t have been as fast either. I mean, I put the paper on the board and it just stayed there like I had placed it flat on the table!
- It’s thin! It stores in my files so well.
- A little bit goes a long way.
The only draw back is it won’t hold super heavy items. If you have a piece of laminated card stock, you’ll need a big strip (or several strips) of magnetic tape. But if it’s just for little things and you don’t have enough magnets, it’s a match made in heaven!
I found mine at my local Walmart (also a little cheaper) in the craft section but you can also find it on Amazon here (Amazon affiliate link):
I’ll be using it again with my upcoming lesson plan for Mother’s Day so stay tuned!
So, what’s the vote? Have you ever tried magnetic tape? If so, do you love it? I’d love to hear what you think!
I know that only a primary music leader can get overly excited about magnetic tape, but I don’t care! It’s a game changer!
