Teach I Feel My Savior’s Love using these interactive scarf actions. By using scarf actions, children can relate the words to the movement in addition to understanding the flow of the song! It’s a perfect combination!

Linda shared her idea on the PML FB page HERE. I love it! Her version includes the 1st 2 verses. So I simply added actions and printables for verses 3 and 4. But because I’m slightly OCD, I wanted all the visuals to match so my printables include all 4 verses.
I created the visuals mostly using Susan Fitch’s artwork HERE. The printables print 2 to a page:

Access my printables at my Resource Library. Instructions for accessing my Resource Library are found at the bottom of this post. Once printed, cut in half.
Each child needs a scarf or something similar (square of light fabric, bandana, etc.). Find more details on my favorite scarves from Amazon HERE.

Before primary, place the scarf action printables on the board. I recommend using magnetic tape (my latest and most favorite singing time find!) to do so. More details about magnetic tape are on my post HERE.

Attention Getter
Anytime you have some sort of actions, the easiest attention getter is to simply demonstrate them and have the children watch. Make sure you and the teachers sing. Post the words like I do HERE.

Scarf Actions Video
This is a quick video demonstration of the scarf actions:

Chorus:
- He knows I will follow him: scarf up and down in front from one side to the other like a wave
- Give all my life to him: Bunch up scarf in hands and move forward like you are giving it away
- I feel my Savior’s love: Infinity sign
- The love he freely gives me: Throw scarf up in the air and catch it
1st Verse:
- I feel my Savior’s love: Infinity sign (His love is forever)
- In all the world around me: Move scarf in big circles
- His spirit warms my soul: Wrap scarf around shoulders
- Through everything I see: Hold scarf by top corners over face and then draw it downward so you can see eyes
2nd Verse:
- I feel my Savior’s love: Infinity sign
- Its gentleness enfolds me: Wrap scarf around hand
- And when I kneel to pray: Gather scarf in hands and hold like praying while bending knees
- My heart is filled with peace: Move scarf overhead in half circles
3rd Verse:
- I feel my Savior’s love: Infinity sign
- And know that he will bless me: Touch scarf to temple (know)
- I offer him my heart: Scrunch scarf and hold over heart
- My shepherd he will be: Put scarf over head to represent shepherd headwear
4th Verse:
- I’ll share my Savior’s love: Trade scarf with a partner
- By serving others freely: Create a rag and “dust” (as if working)
- In serving I am blessed: Hold scarf by top corners and wave up and down (praising)
- In giving I receive: Trade scarf back with partner
After demonstrating, ask the children if they remember any of the actions and take answers.
Then pass out a scarf to each child and teach the actions (beginning with the chorus). Time permitting, gradually remove the pages from the board.
Bear Testimony
Bear testimony that when we choose to follow the Savior, we feel the love that he freely gives us.
No Printer? No Problem!
This activity can EASILY be accomplished without using any printed visuals! Just make sure you know all the actions (or jot down some simple notes for yourself).
