Did you know that the Primary song Baptism is the hardest song to play in the Children’s Songbook? It’s also the most-sung primary song at children’s baptisms. Go figure!! Help your pianist out by offering them the simplified, I Can Play It version if they need!

The book Stories from the Children’s Songbook states that:
The original, beautiful accompaniment to “Baptism” was referred to as “the hardest song” for pianists to play in Sing With Me. A simplification had been given in the 1981 CTR A manual (page 198) and it was further simplified and fingering added for this collection.
You mean to tell me there’s an even more difficult version of Baptism? Ack!
That intrigued me so I did a little more research and found the music found in the Sing With Me: Songs for Children songbook HERE on the Church’s website (p. 34-35).

Well, I’m not the best pianist on the block and definitely struggle with the “simplified” version found in the current Children’s Songbook. It’s on my bucket list to be able to play without flubbing!
So, if you need to accompany the primary song Baptism, and need help with the current arrangement, make sure to check out the I Can Play it simplified version!
