Access my printables at my Resource Library. Instructions for accessing my Resource Library are found at the bottom of this post. Fill in the date, time and ward name before making copies.  Cut apart and pass out!

Urge Primary families to invite their non-member neighbors!  Share the document on your ward’s FB page or hand out extra copies at the end of Primary.

These are also great to attach to each child’s program part!  If you need help writing a program, make sure to check out my 2023 Primary Presentation Script & Outline post.

The image used comes from the New Testament Coloring Book, also found on the Church’s website.  I love portraying the Savior in some way on each year’s covers.

The simple black and white line drawings are intentional.  They can be easily copied at the church library this way.

Primary Program Bulletin

Also available are Primary program bulletin covers to pass out to the congregation on the day of your presentation.  There are a few variations of bulletins:

Option 1: Program Bulletin Printable

This option is the most simple! Just have the kids sign their names on the back page .  If space is limited it can trickle on to the front but have it stay on the back if possible.

TIP: Do this over the course of a few weeks to ensure all the kids sign it

Customize it

Then add your ward’s name and date right below the picture if you like.

Font used: Cambria size 25

Do this by:

  1. Downloading the cover PDF document
  2. Opening the document in Preview and click on Tools > Annotate > Text
  3. A text box will appear in the middle of the document. Drag and drop it to where you’d like to type text
  4. Repeat with more text boxes (can copy and paste works well) until you’ve filled the document

You can also simply hand write the information before you photo copy.

Option 2: Program Bulletin Printable

Have children color every program bulletin cover.  It’s is SO fun – we’ve had members in the congregation return programs to their creators in the past!

This variation has a spot for the child to sign their name…

A great time to color these is when your Primary is practicing for the program either in the chapel on a Sunday or a Saturday practice.  It’s something to do when not reciting their parts into the microphone.

Option 3: Program Bulletin Printable

A blank Primary program cover allows children to draw their own pictures using stories from the to the New Testament.  Ask them to relate their drawing to their program part.  They can also sign their name…

A Word of Caution

When you have the kids color these, DO NOT USE CRAYONS if you will be running them through the printer again (to print the inside information).  The wax jams the machine.  Use colored pencils.

What I HIGHLY suggest is to have the programs completely printed (inside and all) before the kids get to color them.  That way you can use crayon and they can get crinkled with no problem :).  It will just take some serious coordinating with whoever prints your weekly bulletins.

Tip: Have your Primary presidency counselors offer the opening and closing prayers!  Then offer to pick the hymns if it will aid with planning sacrament meeting for that day!

Comment Cards

Don’t skip the comment cards!  These are SO fun!  Cut them apart then insert into your program on colored paper (optional, but helps bring attention to them!).

Place baskets (with pens, optional) at the back of both doors of the chapel and members can place their filled out comment cards there as they leave the meeting.

TIP: Ask the bishopric to announce how to use the cards before turning the time over to the Primary.

After the Primary Program

After the program, during singing time, pass out a thank you gift that contains a treat and activity all wrapped into one!

Then read the comments to the kids!  Or better yet, ask the bishopric to come in and read the comments!

It’s a welcome relief from being in charge for yet another hour!  Hearing what the congregation has to say about the program is a real highlight!

Optionally, sing between comment cards. A singing time music bag comes in really handy!
