Polish off all of your Primary program songs using this Stories of Jesus singing time review activity! Your Primary will come away being prepared for the program while learning more about the stories of Jesus from the New Testament!
I have prepared for over 10 Primary programs and know that this review format will help your Primary be ready to sing in sacrament meeting!
Week 1 focuses on reinforcing the words to your Primary program songs with some engaging activities! In coming weeks, we’ll focus on dynamics, feeling the spirit and reviewing in the chapel!
Program Review Activity
This review activity covers 4 weeks and will help you review for your upcoming Primary program. But it can also be condensed as needed. Review any songs each week. Pick different songs to work on or review the same songs each week.
New Testament Primary Program Review
Place the “Stories of Jesus” title page on the center of the board. Place the various weekly pages around this page, gradually adding on each week.

Week 1 Scenes by the Wayside
Post the page for “Scenes by the Wayside” on the board. Read the instructions to the Primary.

Review the Words Activities
To review the words to your program songs use any of the following activities:
- Word Scrambles: Cut the words to post to all of your program songs so they are on individual pieces of paper. Scramble and place in envelopes. Divide the Primary into groups and have them finish the puzzles as you sing each song (best for Senior Primary).
- Feed My Sheep Paper Shredder: Bring a paper shredder. Print all the words to post o all of your program songs. As you sing the songs, feed the papers to the paper shredder. Decorate the paper shredder as a sheep (optional).
- Eraser Pass: write the words to each song on the board one at a time. Sing the song and have children take turns erasing a word then passing the eraser to another child. See how many words can be erased before the song is finished
- Song Memory: Use Susan Fitch’s 2019 Memory Game. Write the song titles on the board. Post the coordinating pictures without the title. When a match is made, sing the song.
