Week 3 Love-Light of Jesus Face
This week’s activity can be used on its own or condensed as needed. Review any songs each week. Pick different songs to work on or review the same songs each week.
Week 3 focuses on bringing the spirit into our songs as we sing them. This is an important, yet often overlooked step when we sing in Primary!

Primary Program Singing Time Review Activity
Post the page for “Love-Light of Jesus’ Face” on the board. Read the instructions to the Primary. Optionally, post the pages from weeks 1 and 2. This helps remind children of their progress toward preparing for the Primary program.
Then list all the song titles on one side of the board. On the other side, write the songs’ meanings or a short summary of what the songs are about, but out of order. This creates your matching game.
So for instance:
- For the song, The Miracle, its meaning could be “Jesus Christ’s atonement.”
- Then for the song I Will Follow God’s Plan, the meaning could be “The plan of salvation, also known as the plan of happiness.”
- For Behold the Great Redeemer Die, the meaning could be “Jesus died on the cross.”
- etc.
For the activity have children connect the songs to their meanings by drawing a line to connect them. Then sing the songs when a match is made.
Whisper Phones
Optionally, pass out reading whisper phones so children can listen to themselves sing with the spirit.
I purchased these Reading Whisper phones for my Primary (Amazon affiliate link):
Or create homemade phones using small pieces of PVC pipe and fittings.
