My Priamary’s favorite idea listed below is the Turkey Toss (especially with my 11-year old boys!). But a favorite lesson plan specifically for a song on thanks is It’s Autumntime! The actions using a leaf on a string are really fun and can be used with 2 other songs!

Like I previously mentioned, this Turkey Toss is a favorite! Let the kids hit a turkey with a song on it then sing it! Everyone will sing for a turn!

Children love a good book! So they’ll love interacting with this singing time Thanksgiving Sing-A-Story! Let them finish the sentences on each page that coincide with a Primary song!
3. Thanksgiving Dinner Table

If you are looking to feel thankful in singing time, create a Thanksgiving singing time dinner table! No cooking required!
4. Thankful Turkeys Sing-Along

Create thankful turkeys for a Thanksgiving themed singing time! Sing primary songs on thanks as children color and create their own thankful turkeys!
5. Handbells for Thanksgiving

Sing Rain is Falling with a fall twist! Change the words to “leaves are falling” and use the die cut leaves on a string yet AGAIN to create simple actions!!
9. I Am Glad for Many Things

Let your Primary decide what things they are grateful! Then let them write their ideas on a turkey feathers as they sing the Primary song, I Am Glad for Many Things.
10. Children All Over the World

“Dress up” your Primary kids like children from all over the world as you sing Children All Over the World.
11. A Song of Thanks

This A Song of Thanks Primary Singing Time Idea incorporates simple key words, pictures and optional handbells! It’s wonderful to teach about all the blessings Heavenly Father has given us.
12. I Have Two Ears

I Have Two Ears is one that is lesser-known but PERFECT to sing around Thanksgiving! Your primary will love wearing all these body parts the song references!
