Bring Come, Follow Me into singing time with this Moses and the Singing Staff Primary singing time review activity! Children will learn about Moses’ staff while using their own “staff” to create actions as they sing and review Primary songs.

Dorshan shared an idea in the PML Facebook group about Moses holding up his staff, and I absolutely loved how simple it was! That idea became the inspiration behind this activity.
For this activity, each child needs some type of staff (unsharpened pencil, chopstick, tree branch, etc.) like these (Amazon affiliate link)

Print the pages double sided on card stock, cut in half and laminate (optional). Get more details on the singing time offices supplies I use and recommend.
Before Primary, hang the cards on the board (pictures facing outward) and write “Moses and the Singing Staff Review”.
Explain to the Primary that Moses had a staff, like a shepherd’s walking stick. Heavenly Father used it as a sign of His power to help Moses lead and protect the people. Tell the Primary that you’re going to learn about all the ways Moses used his staff that are found in the scriptures.
Remove the first card, read it and briefly describe the story (or read about it directly from the scriptures). Jennifer shared her quick write-up for each of these if it helps:
Then read the activity on the back then sing any song (or parts of a song) as you do that activity.
Repeat with a new card and a new song (or parts of a song) until all the cards have been sung.
Bear testimony that the staff reminded people that Heavenly Father was helping Moses. Heavenly Father helps us too when we follow Him.
