Blast off into singing time with this mission control review that will have your Primary children excited to sing! With this interactive singing time space adventure, your Primary will connect singing ANY Primary songs to the Savior.
I am SO excited for this activity to come to fruition! It was inspired from Barbara Gill’s 2026 Workshop regarding signs & signals. She shared a big list to engage children’s listening and response skills as they sing.
All I did was combine those concepts with a fun space theme and VOILA! A fantastic singing time review activity perfectly geared toward your Primary children (and I might even add, those 11-year old boys)!
Not to mention, it all ties back to Heavenly Father and the Savior! A total win!

Sing or review ANY Primary songs with this activity! It’s great for reviewing Primary program songs you’ve learned so far this year!

Before Primary, display the Canva slides presentation on the TV. See how I use technology in in singing time for help doing this.
Or if using printables, hang page 1 on the board.
Then simply follow the prompts on the Canva slides. Sing one song with each signal up to 8 songs.This activity accommodates reviewing up to 8 songs. If you don’t have that many songs, break them up into verses or phrases as needed. Or omit some of the slides.
Follow the prompts on the Canva slides or gradually add the printables to the board as they are read and the activities performed. Post the words using this flip chart format as needed.
Here are a few notes about some of the signals:
Signal 1 (slide/page 3) suggests using stop and go signs. To do so with the slides, simply toggle back and forth between the “GO” (slide/page 4) and the “STOP” (slide/page 5) slides. When the “go” slide is displayed, sing. when the “stop” slide is displayed, stop singing.
If using printed pages, cut out the stop and go signs and optionally attach to craft sticks. Hold up the “go” sign to indicate when to sing and the “stop” sign when to stop singing.
Signal 6 (slide/page 10) suggests singing staccato (choppy) and legato (smooth). Optionally, use wands, unsharpened pencils, or wooden dowels to create an added visual (or simply use fingers).
When singing choppy, make distinct pointing motions. When singing smoothly, create a large rainbow overhead.
The last slide ties it all back to the Savior by bearing testimony that Jesus Christ loves us and wants us to return safely to Heavenly Father. When we watch, listen, and follow Him, our mission is successful.
