Are you looking for a Primary program review activity for singing time centered around the Old Testament? Polish off your Primary presentation songs using this Old Testament Primary presentation review activity. Your Primary will come away being prepared for the program while reviewing Old Testament stories we learned throughout the year!

Old Testament Singing Time Review
This Old Testament Primary presentation review activity is designed to cover 4 weeks. It will help your Primary prepare for your upcoming sacrament meeting presentation. But it can also be condensed as needed. Any songs can be reviewed each week. Pick different songs to work on or review every song each week.

Week 1: Adam & Eve
You need the following visuals this week:

Print on card stock and laminate. For the 3rd page of the printables, cut out Adam and Eve and attach to craft sticks. Also cut out the fruit image or bring real or fake fruit.
Post the title page on the board. Tell the children that you are preparing for the upcoming Primary presentation in a few weeks. And since you’ve been studying the Old Testament this year, you will be reviewing using some of the Old Testament stories.
Post the image of Adam and Eve on the board and read aloud what it says. Then review your program songs using the following activities:
Adam and Eve Sticks
When Adam is held up, everyone sings the words. When Eve is held up, everyone listens to the words in their minds. Alternate throughout the song(s).
This activity is similar to Stop and Go.
Hot 'n Cold
Send a child into the hallway. Meanwhile, another child hides the fruit somewhere in the Primary room.
The child in the hallway is called back in. In order to find the note, the Primary sings softer and louder to guide him/her to the note. Loudly being they are close to the object, and softly being they are far away from the object.
When the fruit is found, finish singing the song, then repeat with new children and a new song.
This activity is similar to Hot ‘n Cold.

Week 2: Noah & His Wife
You need the following visuals this week:
Print on card stock and laminate. For the pages with the animals, cut them in half.
Post title page on the board, then add Adam and Eve’s previous week’s review page. Then post the printable with Noah and his wife. Read aloud what it says.
Place the various animals on the board and read each practice prompt associated with each animal. Quickly discuss how each is accomplished and why they are important.
- Lion: Open your mouth and sing out for others to hear
- Giraffe: Stand up as straight and tall as you can
- Peacock: Expand your stomach to create long breaths; breathe together at the end of phrases
- Monkey: Don’t monkey around as you sing, hold still and watch the music leader
- Zebra: Opposites attract just like black and white – practice sitting and standing together before and after the song
- Snakes: No stray S’s
Sing through your Primary presentation songs using the animal prompts. Comment on how well the Primary performed each activity or how they can also improve.
For fun, try doing the opposite of each animal prompt and compare how the song feels compared to when they follow the prompts. For instance, have children slouch, not sit and stand together, be extra wiggly and use lots of stray S’s.

Week 3: Abraham & Sarah
You need the following visuals this week:
Print on card stock and laminate.
Light Source
For the activity, you need some sort of light source. An LED touch light is preferable but any sort of lantern, lamp or flashlight can work. You can even just use the Primary lights in the room. I recommend this wireless puck light from Amazon here (Amazon affiliate link):
Post title page on the board, then add the previous week’s review pages (Adam and Eve and Noah and His Wife). Then post the printable with Abraham and Sarah. Read aloud what it says.
Turn the overhead lights off in the Primary room. Set the touch light on the podium while you begin to sing with it turned off.
When any of the teachers feel the spirit they can come up and turn on the light during the song. Then, after the song is over the teacher who turned the light on tells why they did so and what they are feeling.
Afterward, ask the children what they are feeling. If they answer, they can have an opportunity to turn on the light.
Turn the light off and repeat with new songs, new teachers turning the light on and children following up.

Week 4: Hannah & Samuel
You need the following visuals this week:
Print on card stock and laminate.
Post the title page on the board, then add the previous week’s review pages (Adam and Eve, Noah and His Wife and Abraham and Sarah). Then post the printable with Hannah and Samuel. Read aloud what it says.
Chapel Review
This week is the opportunity for your Primary to run through the entire program including speaking parts. Either in your Primary room or in the chapel.
If you must practice in the Primary room, set up the room so the seats mimic the chapel seats.
If you are able to practice in the chapel, try bringing a helium balloon with a string long enough so the balloon can touch the ceiling.
Have a presidency member raise the balloon at the back of the chapel as the children sing. The better they sing, raise the balloon higher.
