This singing time idea for teaching I Know That My Redeemer Lives focuses on the repeated phrase “he lives.” Children will discover each lyric using a modified version of hopscotch as they sing, move, and strengthen their testimony of the Savior.

Don’t worry, children are not hopping onto sacred images of the Savior but rather tossing a bean bag in order to to turn over a page of the flip chart. It’s so simple and actually can be used for ANY song you want to sing over and over again!

I Know That My Redeemer Lives Singing Time Idea
Before Primary, place the pages on the floor in order and face down to create a large grid.
Explain to the Primary that each page in this hymn contains the phrase “he lives.” That phrase must be pretty important! Let’s turn over the pages to reveal what each page says about this phrase.
Choose a child (or several in order to turn all the pages over) to toss the bean bag onto one of the squares. Turn it/them over to reveal the page(s). Read the lyrics.
Have the Primary hum the song until you reach the phrases that are turned over. Sing those phrases. Whenever the phrase “he lives” is sung, have the children stand up.
Repeat with new children, tossing and revealing new phrases until all the phrases have been turned over and the song sung.
Bear Testimony
Bear testimony that Jesus Christ really does live. Because He lives, He can help us, comfort us, and bless us every day.
