About a year ago I wanted to arrange one of my favorite hymns, I Need Thee Every Hour, for children. As I started working on it, I hit pause.
I worried it wasn’t kid-friendly because some of the lyrics felt old-fashioned, and I wondered whether they would truly connect with young hearts.
After I decided to set the project aside, the melodies simply wouldn’t leave me. I would wake up in the morning hearing this counter-melody and knew I needed to finish it.
There is something heavenly about children singing this classic hymn.
